Growing up, I never watch horror movies. I couldn't even watch the scene with the R.O.U.S. scene in The Princess Bride. But last summer, my friends forced me to watch Annabelle. Then It. Then Friday the 13th. Then Halloween. I started watching classic horror movies on my own and fell in love with them.

When I first started working on this idea of creating Horror Movie Icons, I thought of recreating movie posters. I wanted to choose from a variety of monsters and time ranges. I finally landed with Hellraiser, Jigsaw, Jason, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, Nosferatu, It, Frankenstein, Scream, Annabelle, Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, and The Invisible Man.
Pretty soon I had my first initial drafts done. I started with a kind of awkward opaque shadow right down the center of my icons. After receiving feed back from friends and mentors, I decided to take a different approach to the shadows.
I created a darker, more fitting shadow using the multiply setting in the transparency panel. After working with a few more characters, I end up with my final 12 Horror Movie Icons.
